Mobile Photography/Art Competition – FIPA/TheAppWhisperer Special Award – ‘Gates of Paradise’ – How To Enter
I’m very excited about this wonderful competition, the NEM Florence International Photography Awards (FIPA), of which TheAppWhisperer has been very generously given a special section.
The theme is ‘Gates of Paradise’ I selected this theme to honour the gilded bronze doors of Florence’s Baptistery of San Giovanni and as inspiration for all mobile artists to create a magnificent work of art; not depicting the literal ‘Gates of Paradise’ but to portray, what the ‘Gates of Paradise’ represent to you. Think widely a place of contentment, a garden, being with a loved one, a tranquil location to retreat in times of stress.
One question I’ve been asked quite a lot recently is how do artists submit their entries and how many images can they submit. So, I hope I can answer those for you here. As the competition is being run in conjunction with the FIPA Award and those rules are already set, Andrea and I have agreed that there can only be three images submitted in total to both groups. So, you may wish to submit two images to the main FIPA Award and one to TheAppWhisperer – Gates of Paradise award, or vice versa, whichever combination you like but only three in total.
The next question is, “how do I enter the images to TheAppWhisperer section”. Firstly (many thanks to Diana Nicholette Jeon for sharing this), “on a desktop you need to go to the Flickr page that has the image you want to tag. Scroll down. Beneath “groups” you will see “Add Tags” click that and then enter #TheAppWhisperer_FIPA_Award. Then add that photo to the FIPA group”.
For details on how to enter via iPhone, please scroll down.
I have attached Diana’s images here as per her example on Facebook to our APPart group.
How To Enter via iPhone
“On the iPhone, go to the Flickr App. Go to the image in your stream. Not the public, but the ALL section. Click on the image. Click on the little “i” symbol in the right corner. Scroll down. Beneath Groups you will see Tags. Click the little pencil icon and enter #TheAppWhisperer_FIPA_Award. Then add it to the FIPA group”.
