Instagram Increases Image Resolution
Instagram’s image resolution has been stuck on 640 x 640 for a long time but following the recent upgrade to the app, Instagram has now started storing higher resolution images – 1080 x 1080 on its servers.
This update is welcome but not particularly revolutionary. Flickr and Google photos offer the better solution for artists wanting to store images at high resolution online.
Mike Krieger, co-founder of Instagram, announced via Twitter, yesterday the roll-out to both iOS and Android versions of the app.
(Many thanks to Ile Mont, for the tip).
