Mobile Photography and Art Flickr/Instagram Group Showcase 19 April 2020
The dreams people in lockdown are having is becoming something of a phenomena, there’s even a dedicated group entitled ‘Lockdown Dreams’. Realistic, vivid, memorable, real plots, super detailed, just a few of the many interpretations reported by fellow dreamy lockdowners this week throughout the international press. Personally, this past week, I have managed to ‘write’ two novels whilst dreaming, each time, I’ve woken really quite shattered, but so pleasantly calm. I often have interesting dreams, ones which always involve many characters, perhaps it’s the nature of my role here at TheAppWhisperer, where I interact with so many over the course of each day. I am not sure, but pages and pages of content is being memorably ‘written’ as I rest. According to experts, if your dreams have changed over the past few weeks, it could because your schedules have changed, we’re no longer rushing for the tube or train, flagging down a bus or a taxi, we’re slipping into an alternative life and the extra time we’re getting in bed, is allowing our brains to complete another cycle of REM or two – the time where most vivid dreams occur. My dreams have been largely anxiety provoking free, so far, but apparently many are having these. If you are, I recommend you limit time spent reading or watching the news, write down a few things that are concerning you, questions, conflicts. Best of all, work on something you can control, a new project, new art. It will relax you and then later tonight, you might lay down to a beautifully vivid dream, I’m looking forward to mine already. One thing I love about dreams is I can have them guilt free, whatever happens, whomever I fall in love with, ‘it’s not my fault’, what bliss. I’m working on sub plots now and making the most of the extra reflection and the narratives that flow throughout my brain, whilst I rest next to my dear love, who knows, I might even finish the trilogy tonight.
