Mobile Photographer Gerry Coe Awarded Another Fellowship from the BIPP

We are very excited today to learn that one of our community members, Gerry Coe, has received another Fellowship from the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP) for a series of portraits captured and edited with his Apple iPhone.

BIPP is an internationally recognised qualifying organisation with over 100 years of experience in supporting and networking professional photographers.

Over the last 5+ years I have been working on a panel of street portraits, they have been taken in many locations around the world from Cuba, Mexico, Morocco, Germany, Northern Ireland and other locations. I was not really interested in what the people were doing, I was more interested in the life stories in their faces so I concentrated solely on closeup images. I always asked if I could take each persons portrait and if language allowed I would have a quick chat with them and explain what I was going to do with the images. This set of images became very personal to me as I have been a portrait photographer for most of my working life and I had never tried to gain a Fellowship in any form of portraiture so in the end I was able to combine my love of travel with my portraits. All but two of the images were taken using my iPhone and all the processing was done on the phone. I only used photoshop to resize prior to printing. I did all the printing myself onto Innova fine art paper“, explained Coe.
