Mobile Street Photography – StreetWise – Challenge 1 – with Fabulous Prizes!

Welcome to our first challenge to our brand new mobile street photography group, StreetWise.  Unlike our women only mobile photography StreetsAhead group, StreetWise is an open group for all mobile street photographers, whatever their gender.  StreetWise is edited by Sheldon Serkin, Serkin has been a mobile street photographer in New York City since 2010. In 2014, he was named the Grand Prize winner and “Mobile Photographer of the Year” in the Mobile Photo Awards, placing first in the category of Street Photography, read more about Serkin (here).

For this Challenge we are delighted to be working closer with Thomas Hurst, Founder of COVR Photo. Hurst has created an incredible iPhone case with built-in lens that allows you to ‘shoot from the hip’, giving you the advantage of capturing some fabulous street photography. We have a selection of iPhone 5 cases to giveaway (worth $55.00) to three runners up for this contest and for the main prize winner we will send a COVR 6 case to you. The COVR 6 cases are in manufacture right now and samples are shipping soon.  We will have more details on this in another post.

Our first challenge is entitled ‘eye contact’ – we want to see your images either capturing this, reflecting this and of course respecting it. This challenge starts today 15 May 2015 and will run until 29th May 2015.  Please only submit one image to our Challenge group, make it your best one!  Sheldon will curate the images from the Challenge group and we will announce the winner and runners up within the first week of June 2015.

All images should be uploaded to our new StreetWise Flickr Challenge group

We would also like to see your regular mobile street photography images uploaded to our StreetWise Flickr Group

Please also, join our conversations, discussing mobile street photography, within our Facebook Group.
