Mobile Photography Festival – mObgraphia 2018 – Further Details…
Yesterday, we said that more details would follow regarding the mObgraphia 2018 Mobile Photo Festival (which is currently open to receive submissions), today we can reveal them. There are two points of entry. There this one, ‘Open’ with six categories, including Arts, Documental, Landscape, Black and White, Portrait and Street. All of these are free to enter and the winning images will be printed and exhibited for 45 days in the Museu de Imagem e do Som – MIS Sp in Brazil. Manod: The Nation’s Treasure Caves – The National Gallery
5 March – 8 April 2018, Annenberg Court, Admission free “Hide them in caves and cellars, but not one picture shall leave this island”. (Winston Churchill, 1940) In 2018, the National Gallery will recall a remarkable chapter in its history when, during the Second World War, its paintings were removed for safekeeping to a disused slate mine in Snowdonia. Twenty-four archival photographs documenting the dispersal of paintings to Manod near the town of Blaenau Ffestiniog in Wales, together with five photographs of the quarry as it appears today by Robin Friend, will be displayed in the Annenberg Court Central to the exhibition is a 30 minute film, Winged Bull…
Candida Höfer awarded as Outstanding Contribution to Photography recipient at 2018 Sony World Photography Awards
As a member of the World Photography Organisation it gives me great pleasure to announce celebrated contemporary artist Candida Höfer as the recipient of the 2018 Sony World Photography Awards’ prestigious Outstanding Contribution to Photography prize. The artist will be presented with her award at a ceremony held in London on Thursday April 19, 2018.
