Gray’s Anatomy – what are you oggling at? – By Richard Gray
“This week saw the launch of Hipstamatic’s long-awaited photo-sharing app. And what have they decided to call their new app, I hear you ask? Well, no doubt after great investment in some expensive Los Angeles PR consultancy, they’ve settled on the name Oggl. OK, yes, like Flickr, Tumblr, Grmblr, they’ve missed out some letters. That’s the first five minutes of the consultant’s fee. But what about the actual meaning of the word. Or the things that people think of when they hear it. Did they road-test it in the UK? Possibly not. Did they even road-test it anywhere? Possibly not. The (presumably American) Urban Dictionary gives as an example of…
PictureBook – Telling Lies – By Benamon Tame
‘He could feel it building up inside him, a quiet tickle, a subtle shift at first. Too many years of experience let him know it was coming, and as every time before he tried to fight it, tried to find the shape of it as it grew, feel the edges of it so he could find somewhere to push against. The words started to rise up, he felt the weight of them pushing outwards, and despite them he did not have the words to name how it felt. The tickle became shake and a sickly burn as he fought the compulsion that bubbled within him. He barely noticed the twitch…

Many of you may of seen a few of my images on Facebook last night of the event I attended at The Bulgari Hotel, Knightsbridge, London but I also know many of you are wondering what it was about, so I thought I tell you more, as it’s splashed in the nationals now too. The event was organized by Samsung to celebrate the launch of their hot new Smart Camera the NX300. Bailey hosted a charity auction in aid of the Marie Curie Cancer Care organization and a number of his great works were auctioned off for thousands of pounds. Also, the organizers had found around twenty other people named…

PictureBook – The End of Dreams – By Benamon Tame
“There was silence in the library. A wing of the Toy room was filled with books, lining heavy shelves and piled high as if in the memory of trees. Faded children’s books lay between scarlet encyclopedia and almanacs filled with the treasures of the Empire. Manuals of Manners and stranger books brought by the last Governess. The memory of light and those that flew burned into her mind and overlaid all she saw, looped in ascension over the jagged landscape that lay beneath her feet. The tip of one feather caught in a breeze and she shifted back from the edge of the tower, her limb a crude and constant…
