You may have heard of Dr Megan Poe, she is a 46 year old psychiatrist and associate professor who teaches an undergraduate course on love, which she designed at New York University. It has achieved overwhelming success. The course is called ‘Love Actually’ and attempts to pack as much about the human experience of love in, as is possible. The course leans heavily on the work of Eric Fromm, the psychologist best known for his 1956 book, The Art of Loving. Mobile Art – Saturday Poetry – ‘February’
This weeks Saturday Poetry, matched with mobile photography/art is entitled ‘February’ by Tomiko Beyer. Beyer is a Japanese American, queer femme poet and the author of Last Days (Alice James Books, 2021). Describing this poem Beyer explains, “Over the past few years, in part inspired and encouraged by Robin Wall Kimmerer’s Braiding Sweetgrass, I have slowly been building a relationship with the stolen land that I occupy. I am learning to listen to the land, people, ancestors, seasons, and more-than-human beings of this place. I am trying to live fully in all the seasons—and winter is where I struggle most. REEFLEX PRO Camera app has been built by a young team of technology enthusiasts – engineers, scientists, designers and photographers – based in between Zurich, Copenhagen, and Rome. They launched REEFLEX PRO Camera in February 2021 and since then have they have updated it to version 1.4 to include new Slow Shutter modes. This is a free app, albeit the slow shutter option is available via an in-app purchase. MIRA Mobile Prize Award – New Deadline
I am so proud to be a member of the jury for the MIRA Mobile Prize. Now in its 13th edition, this esteemed mobile photography and art annual competition is a platform for the world’s best mobile artists and photographers. The award celebrates contemporary art within six specific categories, these include, Landscape, Portrait, Daily Life, Architecture, Minimal and Digital Art.
