Useful Tips for Hiring Remote Workers
More workers are working from home now than ever before. With the ongoing pandemic, companies must ensure their workers’ safety by letting them finish their tasks at home. This also means that when a company is looking to hire new people, the only option is hiring workers remotely without getting to test their performance in person. As an HR rep or hiring manager, this can be intimidating. Still, it increases the company’s geographical coverage and lets you recruit people worldwide. One effective way to manage remote hiring is by using an employee skills matrix to identify and evaluate each candidate’s specific competencies. This tool helps streamline the hiring process by…

Mastering Winter Mobile Photography with Affinity Photo
We are delighted to publish this tutorial today by Jo Bradford, professional photographer and author of best selling book ‘Smart Phone Smart Photography‘ in association with Affinity Photo software “Living on Dartmoor I am used to shooting in inclement weather. Wind, rain and mist are all the norm up here, and I’ve come to learn that moody days are when the light is at its best. Low-key landscapes, where most of the tones in the picture are at the darker end of the scale, are in abundance in bad weather, giving plenty of photo opportunities of dramatic clouds, shafts of light, rainbows and storm fronts passing across the landscape.

Book Review – Portraits and Dreams by Wendy Ewald
Photographer Wendy Ewald is a community based practitioner who has worked on collaborative photographic projects with children for more than fifty years. Within her newly republished and updated book Portraits and Dreams, it is immediately apparent that we are not just viewing images of children, we are actually getting to meet them. Ewald has the inert ability to treat children with profound tenderness, nurturing their fragile self esteem, enabling them to realise a range and depth to their imagery that originally would not have seemed possible. This book is rich in humanity. Each child shares not only their dreams and sometimes their fears, by creating portraiture of themselves in some…
