The Photography Show – ‘Women in Photography’

How To Ensure Your Work Is Selected – Instagram Editorial Director Pamela Chen
Here’s a very interesting interview with Pamela Chen the Editorial Director for Instagram with PDN. In this interview Chen explains her role, the community’s objectives, her typical day and of course the criteria that she uses to select Instagram accounts to highlight. ‘Instagram has emerged as a source of income and opportunity for professional photographers, who work for brands and marketers creating images for the platform. National Geographic SmartPhone Photographer Stephen Alvarez
Here’s a very interesting article on the Micosoft Stories blog written by Geoff Carter (no relation) regarding Stephen Alvarez a National Geographic Photographer of over 20 years, who was recently given a new assignment to photograph the Seven Natural Wonders of the World using only Microsoft smartphones. “The equipment’s obviously the most important and the least important thing,” he said. “The most important thing really is how you see. We are delighted to publish Part 1 of 3 mobile photography app tutorials with the app Stackables by Jerry Jobe (foreword by Joanne Carter). Stackables retails for $1.99/£1.69 and you can download it here. “You would think, after covering 92 iPhoneography apps (this is number 93), that I have covered all of my favorite apps. You would be wrong. It’s no secret that I do most of my apping in iColorama. It’s also no secret that I find Snapseed to be indispensable for quick, quality edits. And I’ve raved over apps by Pixite and JixiPix. But today’s app, Stackables, is such a joy to work with that I find…
