Yesterday, our community mobile photography and art travelling quilt was fixed for display, for the first time, at The Kemp Center for the Arts in Texas, United States. In this photograph (below) you can see mobile artist, Lorenka Campos standing next to this hand sewn gorgeous project. Each square represents artwork from one artist and there are 234 squares. Moment, the maker of conversion lenses for smartphones has introduced a new 58mm tele lens. With a 6 element design and priced at $99, it is the most complex lens in the Moment line-up and is the sharpest lens it has made, says the company, The new 58mm has been optimized for dual camera setups such as those on the latest Apple iPhone, Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy models, where it will capture a typical x4 magnification when used in-conjunction with smartphone’s built-tele lens. With three and four rear cameras already featuring on high-end smartphones it’s perhaps not out of the question that rumoured Samsung Galaxy S10 will feature three cameras. At least that’s the verdict according to the twitter user, Evan Blass, a well-known and, more to the point, usually well-informed individual with the handle @evleaks. Kristen R Ghodsee has published a thoroughly researched exploration proclaiming that capitalism is bad for women. She argues, adopting some ideas from socialism ‘women will have better lives’ and of course, this includes sex. Ghodsee, an acclaimed ethnographer and professor of Russian and East European Studies, spent years researching what happened to women in countries that transitioned from state socialism to capitalism.
