I am very excited about this weeks Saturday Poetry, matched with mobile photography/art, precisely because I am so delighted that Simon Armitage has been named the UK’s poet laureate this week. He is such a scintillating choice, born very much without a silver spoon, Amitage was born in West Yorkshire and is a former probation officer. He received a phone call from Prime Minster Theresa May on Thursday, just gone, offering him the position.
