Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition with Mobile Category – Deadline Approaching
As avid followers of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition for more years than we care to remember we were delighted to learn last year that the organisers have added a mobile category for smartphone photographers aged 17 and under, called WILD-I, hopefully this will be rolled out within the adult category too at a later stage, we mentioned it here. Since then, the organisers of the competition reached out to Nettie Edwards and Dan Burkholder to provide inspiration to new smartphone photographers and you can read the interview here. This week, the Women’s Mobile Street Photography Collective (Streets Ahead) is pleased and honoured to feature Christine Mignon in our interview segment. I first noticed Christine’s work when she posted some photos on the Hipstamatic page. Her composition and ability to capture moments caught my attention. She has a knack of catching juxtapositions and humorous situations as well as expressive portraits of people on the streets. I find it fascinating that she shoots most of her street shots from the hip without looking through the viewfinder.
