BBC iPlayer App Now Available In The Android Market

Hopefully, and judging from our stats a whole bunch of readers have been avidily reading our BBC iPlayer iPad app review, which is great news. When that app was released in the App Store this morning there was still no sign of an Android version, but now there is. So, if you’re lucky enough to have a Samsung Galaxy Tab you could start watching this on your 7inch tablet, or any Android cell phone will sufffice right now.

From what we can tell so far, by testing this on our Galaxy Tab, there does not appear to be a high quality mode, like the iPad – presumably there’s a reason for this, to do with screen quality.

It is a little jittery runnig on the Galaxy at the moment and hopefully this will settle down, unfortunately it does not run as well as the iPad version, that is for sure, but there might be a quick fix for this.

The app is free and you can download it now, why not give it a try and let us know how you get on with it and which device you’re testing it on.
