"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" opens Gospel of John The Apostle. What is that Word exactly was, is anyone’s guess. The one thing is for sure – it was not written in any books… The Word of the English translation of the Bible, was originally the Logos of the Greeks. Was the Logos, the language of the Gods? The way to encapsulate the information, like DNA does? Where the medium is the message? Is it possible to lift the humans’ words off the paper, that they are written on, in the language that we understand, and turn them into Logos of the Gods?

Urban Design Limited today is happy to announce the availability of Dot-to-Dot for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Still these little helpmates can be vicious enough; therefore one has to be careful.

Whether you are a reining horse competitor or a spectator, iRein will quickly become one of your favorite apps. iRein is great for spectators who enjoy watching the sport of reining, but need to understand and follow along with the patterns they are watching. And if you are a competitor then no doubt you have a copy of the NRHA handbook sitting on the dashboard of your pickup truck. The trouble is, it’s probably fading in the sun as you read this. Not to mention, riding horseback with your copy of the handbook in your back pocket has left the pages wrinkled and barely readable.

Experience the luxury of having the information that means the most to you right on your favorite handheld device. And did we mention the color-coded breakdown of pattern maneuvers? That’s right, the maneuvers of each pattern are easily identified by a unique color. Left spins are always colored green, right rollbacks are yellow, and left circles brown. Instead of the entire pattern appearing in black, this system of division is meant to help with memorization, resulting in an overall better understanding of each maneuver. The more one understands the pattern, the better one will perform in competition.

Well Logs

Corporate Smalltalk Consulting Ltd has announced Well Logs 1.6.4 for iPad, an update to their unique app for the petroleum industry that enables viewing of extremely large Well and Mud Logs in either PDF or TIFF formats. Capable of displaying documents as big as 11 x 770 inches at 230 dpi, the app relies upon proprietary technology from its Can Opener app to import, store, pre-render, tile, scale, and scroll very large images on any iOS device. This update features a re-written TIFF Handler that improves document load times and permits even larger images, and selectable PDF Scale Factor that lets the user trade visual accuracy for reduced space and time demands.

Well Logs is the only iOS app on the market to have the capabilities to load and view oil & gas wireline well log TIFF and/or PDF images. With wireline well files up to hundreds of inches long, most apps do not have the memory capacity to allow such images to load without crashing. But Well Logs has made it a priority to specifically handle such unwieldy files. Of course, the advantages of viewing well logs that are 1 x 65 feet, or land maps that are 4 x 18 feet on an iPad rather than a paper document are significant. On-site viewing and discussion of paper documents no longer presents the inconvenience and safety hazard it once was.

ZeCon is an action Game with a satirical theme based on the Global Financial Crisis, Zombie Banks, and the Zombie eConomy. Zombie Bankers are running wild, the Dollar is going down the toilet faster than you can say QE3, and the economy is performing like a punch drunk prizefighter. Catch the rampaging Zombie Bankers with your helicopter and dump them in the toilet to plug that dollar sucking vortex and rescue the world from the ravages of the Zombie eConomy.

What is the Zombie eConomy – ZeCon?
The Zombie eConomy is the direct result of the recent financial crisis that laid bare many of the assumptions behind de-regulated free-for-all markets. This was especially so in the finance industry, as we watched (and still watch) in disbelief as management and employees of major financial firms looted them, enriching themselves and leaving the mess to taxpayers. In 2011, in the graveyard of economic ideology, the Zombie Bankers still stalk the economic landscape.

Mirage Labs has announced an update to Multicorder 2.0 for iPhone and iPod touch. Multicorder 2.0 (formerly, FlexiCorder) is finally in app Store. With update 2.0, it becomes the most robust camcorder app allowing you to flip between front and back camera with flipping animation, choose resolution, aspect ratio, frame rate, and compression level to save disk space, the best possible real time Video Zoom in HD, wide angle video recording, secret mode recording, choose audio sampling rates upto 48 kHz, and many more. With so many recording options, it is the only video camcorder on the iPhone you will ever need.

With numerous video camcorders in the appstore, it can be challenging for customers to decide which to buy. More than the nominal cost of such applications, it is their pre-historic UI, incomplete functionality and poor stability(absolutely critical for a camcorder app not to crash) that leaves most customers unhappy. MultiCorder steps into this breach by addressing these issues with a comprehensive feature list and rock solid stability.

Locally-based independent developer James Hollender has available his iCarbs app (version 1.8) for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. In the works is a major upgrade which will allow users to record their nutrient intake information. The upgrade will be provided free to existing users. The iCarbs app allows users to easily find out how many carbohydrates are in over 1,100 different food servings, critical information especially for diabetics who need to restrict their intake of carbohydrates. This app is the eighth in a series of Nutrient apps based on the USDA National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference.

The iCarbs app provides information about foods and how they are rated for carbohydrate content. This is provided as a means to assist in deciding which foods to eat. Bodybuilders probably want to have a high intake of carbohydrates (carbs), but on the other hand diabetics need to make sure they don’t exceed their recommended daily amount. The food servings are rated from extremely low to extremely high in Carbohydrates.
