Pennydale today is pleased to introduce Assault SOS 1.2 for iOS, their new Utility that keeps users safe walking home late at night or jogging with an automatic alarm and emergency notification system. The app allows users to choose from two modes, active and passive alarms. HotButton mode displays a red button on the screen that the user must hold. If they let go, the audio alarm and flashing screen go off, and phone, Twitter, Facebook or email emergency notification is activated. In CheckIn mode, the alarm is triggered after a specified time if the user does not check in with the app. The app provides a reminder that it is time to check in before triggering the alarm.

Set up of the app is quick and easy. The user enters the appropriate contact information for individuals they may want contacted in case of an emergency. This process can be automated by simply adding their contact info from the iOS Contact app. In addition, the user can set up a custom Alarm Message, "My alarm triggered while I was taking the subway home," or use one of the preset messages, "My alarm triggered while I was out running." That completes the one-time set up.

On launch in portrait mode, the Home screen has only two buttons: Start and Recipients. Touching the Recipients button lets the user choose the person they want their iPhone to contact if the alarm is triggered. Users can specify notification via phone, email, Facebook, or Twitter. Touching the Start button opens the Alarm Message page where the user can select from one of their custom or preset messages.
