Christmas Chaos

Pixel Knights Ltd. announce Christmas Chaos, for iOS and Android devices. Pixel Knights release their second iOS and Android title from their new Welshelsh studio near Pwllheli, UK.

Proving that you don’t need to be a giant city based game studio to produce fun, innovative mobile games. Pixel Knights pride themselves on releasing easy to play games which are fun for the whole family.

The premise of Christmas Chaos is simple, you must avoid obstacles, collect coins and try to get Santa back to the North Pole to collect his sack of gifts to delivery to the Children on Christmas night. The entire game is controlled by a single touch, so no fiddly touch-screen controls to get to grips with, we wanted to make sure it was accessible to everyone from day 1.

Racing takes place against 3 beautiful, wintery backdrops, and even snow storms don’t stop Santa in his quest.

Carl Jones, Director and Lead Programmer at Pixel Knights says :

"I started writing games on a C64 at the young age of 10, mostly because I didn’t have a tape player with it to load them :p And the magazines in those days were always full of great listings to type in. Things progressed somewhat with the arrival of the Amiga, I used to spend days writing games on that platform using AMOS.

Unfortunately once I graduated from University and got a ‘real’ job, game programming became a distant memory. But recently I’ve been really captivated by iOS gaming and so decided it was time to re-kindle my passion for game development"

"More than any other time of year, the holidays are defined by the music that celebrates this season," commented Pieter Born of BluMedialab.com. "And that’s why Christmas Radio is so massively popular around the world. At no cost, and conveniently via WiFi and cellular networks, people can instantly connect to the holiday music they love, whether that’s rockin’ Christmas hits, old standards, or whatever else they prefer. Quite simply, Christmas radio is holiday music on demand, and it’s completely free. And on top of all of that, the iPad app adds a touch of beautiful holiday decor when it streams music using the Airplay and stands near a fireplace, on a mantelpiece, on top of a table, or even nestled near the Christmas tree!"

Courage Wolf Jump

Rocket Splash Games Inc. today announces the launch of Courage Wolf Jump, an action-packed game for iPhone that challenges players to jump through 3 unique worlds and 9 dangerous levels toward the finish line. As a wolf, players collect coins that allow them to buy weapons, special abilites, and more. These valuable extras will be useful when fighting the evil bosses players will encounter on their adventure.

"Courage Wolf Jump is a whole new generation of jump game," said Benjamin Cousins, President of Rocket Splash Games Inc. "We packed everything we could into the game to make it as exciting as possible: weapons, cash, special abilities, multiple worlds, bosses, and much more."

In Courage Wolf Jump, players leap from platform to platform, climbing higher until they reach the top. Adding to the danger, some platforms are moving and others are guarded by lethal enemies. Missing a platform and falling off the screen will cause players to lose a life – lose 3 lives and the game is over.

"As you keep jumping higher, it gets more and more dangerous," Benjamin Cousins said. "As we say in the game, the harder you fall, the higher you’ll bounce."

Players collect coins as they jump through each level and this money can be traded for special abilities that enhance the game. Special abilities include: Ultra Boost for a huge leap up, Epic Howl to destroy enemies, and Super Mode to become invincible and bounce higher. Each special ability has 3 different levels to unlock.

In addition, passive abilities that players can choose from include Longer Jump to leap farther, Coin Multiplier for extra money, and Extra Lives to play longer.

Pirate Scribblebeard’s Treasure

Pirate Scribblebeard’s Treasure, an app developed by user-experience designer Michelangelo Capraro to encourage his own son to make art on touchscreen tablets, receives a free updated with new pages, characters, and animation.

"As graphic designers, my wife and I spend much of our time using computers to create things," said Kidoodle Apps founder Michelangelo Capraro. "We were really conscious about our child getting sucked into addictive smartphone and tablet games or endless video watching on the iPad. We wanted a more creative digital experience for him and other kids, something that would encourage their imaginations and get them to create things rather than blow things up."

A Newsweek article about the creativity crisis amongst children in the US spurred Michelangelo to start Kidoodle Apps, an app development company to develop iPad and Android apps centered on creativity-building in children. Michelangelo’s goal was to design something that encourages children to exercise their problem solving and imaginative skills by thinking and drawing rather than coloring in a pre-drawn, already-perfected character.

The husband and wife team landed on the idea of a doodle book, where children complete a drawing that’s already been started for them, in any way they choose. Two young animated hosts of the app, Oscar and Josephine, encourage children to draw burly pirates, pirate ships, sea monsters, and other pirate-themed elements. Once the child is ready to move to the next page, their drawing comes to life and is incorporated into a bigger animated scene.

In the new update, children’s drawings become animated along with drawings the children made on previous pages. Parents and children are often surprised to see characters they created several pages earlier, return in new and delightful ways. There are now 16 animated pages that are included with the app.

Jumpy Horse

Internet Reshenia today is pleased to highlight new game secrets to Jumpy Horse 2.7, an important update to their fun simulation game for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. In Jumpy Horse, players score points controlling one of several horses in either Jump or Pasture mode. The 2.7 update includes new fun "The Lasso" game, "Run with the herd" game and "60 seconds".

You can touch the horse fast and move your finger up, to the left, and to the right, or do circles with your finger. If you simply touch and hold the horse, it starts moving forward. Most actions are done by touching the horse, not around the horse. If you touch the field around the horse, the horse simply goes there. For the games where the horse has to run a lot, it is much easier to control it by tilting the iPad – depending on how much you tilt the device, the horse will walk, trot or gallop. To make the horse jump, shake the iPhone or iPad in any direction.

In The Lasso game you play the bucking horse that does not want to be caught by the cowboy. There is something interesting about horses – when a horse plays, kicks and jumps around another horse, the other horse also becomes bucking – they are herd animals. That’s why when the horse we play kicks, the other horse also kicks and the cowboy will fall at some stage. You can jump over fallen trees and hope that the cowboy will not be able to follow you. You can test your reactions by staying around the cowboy and the moment he prepares to catch you, make a fast move and escape. It is so fun 🙂

The Run with the herd game has no particular point, just run around with the other horses. It was requested by one of the kids that likes Jumpy Horse.
