Nik Software have published their official response to the Google/Nik Software acquisition. Here it is in full:
‘We are pleased to announce that Google has acquired Nik Software. For nearly 17 years, we’ve been guided by our motto, “photography first”, as we worked to build world class digital image editing tools. We’ve always aspired to share our passion for photography with everyone, and with Google’s support we hope to be able to help many millions more people create awesome pictures.
We’re incredibly grateful for all of your support and hope you’ll join us on the next phase of our journey as part of Google.
All our best!
The Nik Software Team’
We’re still waiting to talk directly with the team at Nik Software, whom we have known for many years. One thing we do know for sure is that they are passionate about photography, each employee is a photographer of sorts. We know that they wouldn’t have just ‘sold out’ so we have to believe that this was a good move for the good of photography, the customer and of course, its core products.
As soon as we receive a direct response from Nik we will let you know…
