APPart – Mel Harrison Gets Raw And Personal

My muse left! She packed up and disappeared into the night without so much of a note, let alone a forwarding address.

I was left staring at a blank screen, zip… Nada… Nothing.

Left to my own defences I pulled a pear out making school lunch for my little fellow who started school this week. The leaf grabbed my attention straight away because it is rare to find one on a supermarket bought pear. I gently put it aside and went about my day. It was a shitty day, hot weather with lots of stuff that drained me emotionally so I cut that beautiful pear in half… Then sewed it back together because that is how I felt today. Held together with some tacking stitches.

Fixed, done, repaired! Never perfect because no one ever is right?

The image was taken in 6×6 and editing was done in paintfx, picgrunger, photocopier and scratchcam.

Nope, no one ever is perfect . . . and that’s good because that would be boring, right? This image is beautiful Mel and don’t worry, your Muse will come back. They always do. She’ll come slithering back in the night and say, “I’m baaaaaaack. Sorry I left you hanging. Now let’s get busy!” 😉 xoxox

Mel, you don’t always need your muse, you do a fantastic job with or without (her/him) Great art I love it!

    This is absolutely brilliant Mel!
It is the perfect image to lure the muse back … lest she find herself replaced with the new Muse of the Pear!
This is such a brilliant image that can be interpreted so many ways, I am enjoying looking at it, over and over again.

I love this image, I had no idea that you actually sewed it together. Brilliant!
    Wonderful processing too.

Did you composite the needle and thread or actually see it with a real needle and thread?? It’s cool!

Tracy thanks! It was sewn with a needle and thread. My first passion is sewing so it seemed fitting to do it for real
