‘Impossible’ Viewfinder: Lili Plasticienne’s Collages
As you know we’re working closer and closer with the team at the Impossible Project as we continue to branch out and expand our reach with all things related to mobile photography. Analog post-processing of mobile images is becoming more and more popular and we’re going to make sure our readers are fully briefed on this very exciting development.
Today we are publishing the second of a series of articles and interviews related to the Impossible Project but ones that we feel could and are being adapted into mobile photography.
This article features artist Lili Plasticienne who shares her instant photo project based on collage. I think many of our readers will enjoy this.
We recently published a wonderful ‘Impossible’ interview with Sarah Seene, if you missed that, please go here.

“I use different techniques in the medium of collage. My work is linked to movie themes in a passionate choice of the 50’s, serie noire and echoes the creative heritage of surrealism”.

“I work like a ‘film director’, my compositions are triggered by elements, objects, material in which significance is given. The ‘directing’ can be seen through the organization of spaces (real/ unreal, temporal/eternal) inside their own frame or facing the exploration of a place and its investment.”

“I always try to create a bound between the reflection on time, memories and movie theatricality. This art directing is composed in old drawers”.

“This directing can be find in my instant photography mixing many temporal, non temporal spaces dedicated to memory. Different fields can be observed in the composition, which is made of fictional and real elements.”

“My plastic work consists in combining at the same time the emulsion, the collage and the graphics. My compositions are based on the theme of the memory and this piling, this duality between the collage and the emulsion opens a door onto the processing of repentance”.

‘Total’ – ©Lili Plasticienne
“Successive laps of time accumulate like successive layers which can get tangled, harmonized or contrasted. The emulsion works as a skin which comes to stick , to wrinkle, to tear sometimes according to the change which I wish to put forward”.

“A few words about me: Contrast .. Duality .. Past …. Memories…”
