A Day In The Life Of ...

A Day In The Life Of Veevs – A Very Talented iPhone Photographer

Welcome to our exciting new column on theappwhisperer.com, this section is entitled ‘A day in the life of …’ and we’ll be taking a look some hugely influential and interesting people in the mobile app world. Ones that we think you will love to learn more about.

This is our second installment to our new series, we previously published ‘A Day In The Life Of Ernesto Diaz’, if you missed that you can read it here.

Kicking us off today is Vivi (Veevs) Hanson, an amateur photographer, born in Lima, Peru. Veevs lived in Peru until she was 19 years old and then moved to London, UK with her family. Veevs currently resides in South West London in a small place called Old Isleworth, just by the river and very close to the beautiful Richmond on Thames.

Veevs discovered photography with the advent of digital cameras and ventured into iPhone photography last year. She started experimenting with Hipstamatic and found some amazing websites, (most notably theappwhisperer.com ;)) and then she was hooked.

Starting out with an iPhone 3GS she has now progressed to the iPhone 4S. Despite the appalling weather in London (yes we know all about that), plus working full-time, Veevs doesn’t get to spend as much time shooting images as she would like but the images that she does capture are exceptional and that’s why we wanted to talk with her, to find out more about her inspiration and natural talent.

We have published some of her great images below, we find them truly inspiring and we think you will too. With each image we have included exif data, in as much as the app or apps that were used. As many of the images have been cross-processed we have listed the apps in the order they were used to edit.

(We have also linked each app to the iTunes App Store, so if an image particularly inspires you, just click on the app or apps that were used and start downloading).

Check out the full interview below…

(If you would like to be interviewed for our new ‘A day in the life of …’ section, just send us an email and we’ll get it set up).

JC – What are you top five tips for iPhoneography?

V – :

1, Don’t just take one photo of a subject, take many, from different angles;

2, Use more than one app if you have time.  I take the same photo and use about five different apps so that I have a varied choice of photos and effects to choose from;

3, Take photos and edit them because you enjoy doing it and do not worry about anyone else’s opinions!  Enjoy your photos because you like them;

4, Take lots of photos of everywhere and anything;

5, Play around with all your apps, learn how to use them and try different styles.
