We would like to inspire all mobile artists to create one image a day using the selected colour of Pantone’s ‘Color of the Day’ – see here (we will announce the colour each day). Grand Prize Winners Announced at 2015 Sony World Photography awards,
The Honorary Jury of the world’s largest photography competition today names American photographer John Moore as the 2015 Sony World Photography Awards’ L’Iris d’Or/ Professional Photographer of the Year, amongst other awardees. Chosen from the winners of the awards’ thirteen professional categories, the winning work “Ebola Crisis Overwhelms Liberian Capital” is a hard-hitting series of images that cut to the heart of this human tragedy. Moore, a Senior Staff Photographer and Special Correspondent for Getty Images, and the winning photographs have been universally credited for the early exposure of the scale of the Ebola epidemic in Monrovia, the capital of Liberia and the epicentre of the deadly disease. Simon Norfolk – Wins at 2015 Sony World Photography Awards for Landscape
The Honorary Jury of the world’s largest photography competition today names Simon Norfolk as the 2015 Sony World Photography Awards’ Landscape Photographer of the Year. “Norfolk is an incredible photographer and my husband Kevin, has previously interviewed him and featured his work in The Times”. Norfolk, a landscape photographer who lives and works in Brighton and is represented by INSTITUTE, was selected from over 87,000 entries to the Professional competition for a series called “When I Am Laid In Earth”. Jaime Glasser Joins TheAppWhisperer as a New Columnist
We are delighted to welcome Jaime Glasser as a new Columnist to TheAppWhisperer. Glasser has recently returned to the art world after a career as a Veterinarian and a Research Scientist. She attended the Glassell School of Art at the Museum of Fine Art in Houston, Texas. She was a watercolor artist before devoting her career to animals and writing on Animal Hospice. Glasser has joined TheAppWhisperer to host a collaboratory mobile photography group and associated Column called Artistic Anarchy: Mobile Collusions. We’re excited to begin our second AppArt Infinite Challenge where you’ll begin your work with the same image and make it your own. The results will no doubt illustrate the unlimited possibilities within a single image. We’ll select images to present in a showcase dedicated to this challenge.
