Those wizards over at iFixit wasted no time tearing into Apple’s latest magical device, the Magic Trackpad, with one wave of their wands they discovered the true mysteries surrounding this device. Only there weren’t any really, it sports the same touchscreen controller chip as the iPhone, mean that Apple is continuing their trend of reusing bits and bobs across multiple devices – makes sense. This trackpad uses the same Bluetooth chip that’s found in the Magic Mouse. So other than the logic board there aren’t actually any new electronics within the Magic Trackpad. Well, how about that! Forget new cases, in Japan Apple are replacing first generation iPod Nanos due to complaints of overheating and burns experienced by users.
