MIRA Mobile Prize – Mobile Photography Competition
There’s a wonderful new mobile photography competition that we think you should enter – it’s free to and it’s juried by a highly respected and experienced international group of individuals (including myself)! Fifty images will constitute the short-list and these will be exhibited at the MIRA Forum – this will be launched on 6 September 2014. There’s a beautiful award for the winner – five nights in Porto, this includes accommodation and food and a return trip from any European capital. To find out more go here.

The Eye International Photography Festival Returns For A Second Year
Following on from the hugely successful inaugural event in 2012 details have been announced for the second EYE International Photography Festival which will run from 27 – 29 June 2014. The 2014 festival sees another high quality line-up of guest artists, including one of the world’s leading documentary photographers, Ian Berry, who was invited to join Magnum by Henri Cartier Bresson. Truth and Memory – British Art of the First World War
This looks like a fabulous exhibition that we have just received details of directly from The Imperial War Museum London (IWP). IWM London presents the largest exhibition of British First World War art for almost 100 years. This major retrospective comprises over 120 artworks and will feature the most iconic images to emerge from the First World War, including paintings by Paul Nash, Percy Wyndham Lewis, CWR Nevinson, Stanley Spencer and William Orpen, as well as lesser known, yet significant works, by artists such as Anna Airy, George Clausen and Gilbert Rogers. One exhibition, two openings: Thursday, March 6 2014 from 6 PM Sunday, March 16 from 3 PM Located in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, Mobile Camera Club will exhibit mobile photography in all its forms. An Intimate Exhibition Features 10 Artists during Art Basel Miami through January 31 2014
It’s fitting that the Lord Balfour hotel in South Beach host an art exhibit entitled ‘WORD’ from December 1 – January 31. Why? Well, step into the hotel and you will immediately see a key design detail – an almost origami like scroll on the ceiling that includes several famous quotes from Lord Balfour and Winston Churchill. Balfour coined a few phrases that linger today: “Make it short and sweet“ is etched into mirrors in the loos.
