LensCulture Art Photography Awards 2018 Results
As an Editor for LensCulture as well as a member of the International Press I am happy to publish the results of the LensCulture Art Photography Awards 2018, now that the embargo has passed. These Awards were LensCulture’s very first Art Photography Awards and they were eager to see a wide range of creativity from people in diverse cultures around the world. We are therefore delighted to present 38 contemporary photographers (from 18 countries) who are making remarkable work right now. James Bacchi’s ‘In The Sky’ Mobile Photography Exhibited at FourSquared, Bay Area – August 25 – October 6, 2018
We are very proud to announce that James Bacchi, a San Francisco-based gallerist, curator and mobile photographer, is one of sixteen artists exhibiting at FourSquared, Bay Area this summer/autumn. Bacchi has co-founded galleries in New York and San Francisco, most notably ON THE WALL in New York City and ArtHaus, an award-winning San Francisco-based contemporary arts gallery that he has co-owned with art dealer Annette Schutz for nearly 23 years. After Nyne Launch West London Gallery with Olympus Support & Inaugural Exhibition
The After Nyne Creative Services Group, parent company of arts publication After Nyne Magazine, today announced a collaboration with Olympus. Together they will launch a brand new permanent gallery space After Nyne Gallery in West London. Building on their already established success from a series of well-received pop-ups, After Nyne Gallery are proud to unveil their first exhibition space in Holland Park. This inaugural exhibition will display some remarkable works by Olympus brand ambassadors such as Martina Govindraj, whose work engages with architecture and concepts of space, and award winning Steve Gosling renowned for his signature black and white atmospheric landscapes.

Celebrating the power of SmartPhone Photography – Reveal the Real You!
Last night I was entertained with all my favourite things, smartphone photography, photographers, artists, galleries of art, fine food and not least, plentiful champagne. I was invited to an exclusive event showcasing images of the Reveal the Real You winners in association with Dazed magazine (founded by Rankin and Jefferson Hack), Huawei and Leica. The event was organised by a wonderful team, many of whom I have known from many years ago, when I was editing print photography titles, it was so good to catch up and also to meet new friends. Short Film Series & Photo Exhibition Launches Featuring the Work of Five Extraordinary Photographers
A series of five short films followed by a London photo exhibition launches today featuring the work of five photographers overcoming their own personal battles to shoot extraordinary images across a dynamic range of subjects. David Hockney at the Tate – Britain’s Biggest Show!
Tate Britain will be staging an extensive retrospective of David Hockney’s works. The show will cover six decades of Hockney’s work. Opening in London in 2017 before travelling to the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. This is one show not to be missed. Celebrating his 80th birthday, next year, Hockney is very much involved with the Tate’s show. The show will feature his very early work from 1960, through to work he has created during the 2000’s. David Hockney opens at Tate Britain on 9 February 2017, I can’t wait!
