We are launching a new section to TheAppWhisperer today, to highlight the very best of mobile photography each and every day. It’s called Pick of the Day, and it ties in with our Instagram feed. We want you to submit your very best mobile images of the day to our Instagram feed here, we will select one to be featured within a new section on our website. Surfacing Hidden Feelings through Portraits with @el__ral
Fabulous photos of collaged mixed-media portraits,“portraits are the art form that most caught my attention. It’s like having a dialogue with the viewer,” explains Raúl Huerta (@el__ral) from Barcelona, Spain, who goes by the pseudonym Ral. MIRA Mobile Prize 2014 – Book Available Of The Winning Images
After a hugely successful exhibition, of which I was very proud to have been included within the Jury, the organisers have created a book including an editorial about mobile photography authored by Manuela Matos Monterio and inclusive of the fifty shortlisted images as well as some images from the jury. William Daniels Receives 2014 Tim Hetherington Grant – World Press Photo
World Press Photo and Human Rights Watch are pleased to announce that the French photographer William Daniels has been awarded the fourth annual Tim Hetherington Grant. Daniels, represented by the London-based agency Panos Pictures, was selected for his work on the Central African Republic, a project entitled ‘Roots of Africa’s Unholy War’. He will receive a grant worth 20,000 euros to complete the project. The jury, meeting in New York on 10 December, selected the winner from among 198 applications.
