Mobile Photography & Art Flickr Group Showcase – 30 July 2017
Life is full of meaning, each moment that we live it, we experience life at its most paramount. We don’t need to travel to distant monasteries or wade through volumes of text in enormous libraries. Life is not a great secret, life is real, untapped right here, right now. At TheAppWhisperer I constantly strive to bring a culture of belonging, inclusion, purpose, storytelling and transcendence because fundamentally that is what life is about. It is how I live in my private life, it brings meaning into my family and it is that inspiration that all of you bring to our community. TheAppWhisperer is not only about the very best mobile…

Mobile Photography & Art Flickr Group Showcase – 16 July 2017
Seduction has its own narrative and this weeks mobile photography and art showcase is arranged accordingly. How far you can go is a question in art, as in life and in mobile art life, there’s no limit. It’s been said that the art of seduction is rarely seductive but this of course depends on your own view, function before fantasy or vice versa. In England, a psychological study revealed the secret that it’s said history’s greatest seducers have known all along, a sense of humour. Particularly and most likely biased, a British self-deprecating humour apparently. The most important thing is not to take ourselves too seriously, outlaw pomposity and self…

Mobile Photography & Art Flickr Group Showcase – 9 July 2017
“The past only comes back‘, wrote Virginia Woolf in her unfinished memoir, “when the present runs so smoothly that it is like the sliding surface of a deep river. Then one sees through the surface to the depths“. I confess, I am a huge fan of Virginia Woolf, the English writer who is considered to be one of the foremost modernists of the twentieth century and essentially (to me) a pioneer in the use of stream of consciousness as a narrative device. I ‘discovered’ Woolf’s work as a young girl, long before my eldest son attended boarding school, in Lewes, where she died, drowning herself in the River Ouse, not…

Mobile Photography & Art Flickr Group Showcase – 2 July 2017
“There are sights too beautiful to swallow. They stay on the rim of the eye; it cannot contain them“, this is a quote from a beautiful book I am currently reading and highly recommend, To the River by Olivia Laing. It is not only poignant for this life itself but also for this weeks Mobile Photography and Art Showcase. This showcase is the work of abundantly gifted mobile artists from around the world. Each image goes straight to the emotional truth of life today. There’s a sullen lust in the portraiture, a heaviness in the street scenes and lyrical joy in the floral portraiture. This art is inspirational, fascinating and…

Mobile Photography & Art Flickr Group Showcase – 25 June 2017
This is a rollicking good Mobile Photography and Art Video Showcase. Brilliant images encompass this wild ride, with the minimum of pretension. This is a blend of candor with naturalism, it is audacious, sweeping and a rich layer cake of a showcase. A luminous show of lives well lived, keep doing that, keep living well. As rounded, complex and infernally seductive a human being that I am, I never waive from my belief that what we are all doing here, is crucially important to the rich landscape of life, this is a gift chronicling the ambiguity and delicacy of the human condition simultaneously captured in the most subtle of ways…

As you view this inspired excursion into deepening imagery, complete with characters within and without, transcending all that we know about mobile photography and art, you will see how vividly it anatomises non-conformity as a key element in the photographic/art circles and demonstrates a healthy sign of victory. Enjoy! If you would like your work to be considered for entry into our weekly Mobile Photography and Art flickr group, please submit it to our dedicated group, here. If you would like to view our previous Flickr Group Showcases (please go here). Many congratulations to the following artists…

Mobile Photography & Art Flickr Showcase – 23 April 2017
When considering what is the most human desire of all, we know we have a lot to choose from. Think of the art of giving, every little nuance of slow, artful arousal and then think of the generous all encompassing multiple physical relief, release, the surrender… Think of the mental, spiritual and physical emotion. Perhaps, the most intense human desire, is the ‘longing to be understood’. It’s something we all want and it is essential to our psyche. This weeks Mobile Photography and Art Showcase demonstrates the longing to be understood, clearly. Each artists’ work stands out, each of their works portrays private desires as well as public obligations.…

Mobile Photography & Art Flickr Showcase – 19 March 2017
You may have heard of Dr Megan Poe, she is a 42 year old psychiatrist and associate professor who teaches an undergraduate course on love, which she designed at New York University. It has achieved overwhelming success. The course is called ‘Love Actually’ and attempts to pack as much about the human experience of love in, as is possible. The course leans heavily on the work of Eric Fromm, the psychologist best known for his 1956 book, The Art of Loving, that I mentioned a few weeks ago, here. What I love about the syllabus of this class, is at its core, albeit a psychology class, its emphasis is on…

Mobile Photography & Art Flickr Group Showcase 19 February 2017
Wow! What a week for mobile photography and art imagery! You’ve all kept me very busy this morning/afternoon, selecting your images and placing them, carefully into this showcase. So much so, that my mind has almost gone blank with what to say. Usually, on a Sunday, after I have worked on our showcase, I assimilate some words and thoughts, things I have been thinking over during the week, perhaps. Of course, this week took in Valentines Day, which to many of us means love. So, of course, that got me thinking, of the Valentines week that I spent with my love and also, I thought of, perhaps in view of…
