Foxconn Says ‘No Need For Overreaction’ To Steve Jobs’ Medical Leave
Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry Co), the largest manufacturer of electronics and computer components worldwide with up to 450,000 workers and of course manufacturers of products from Apple, Amazon, Cisco, HP, Dell, Nintendo, Nokia, Microsoft, Sony and Sony Ericsson have spoken out in relation to the controversy surrounding Jobs’ medical absence. In a report from DigiTimes, Foxconn acknowledged that Steve Jobs’ had taken medical leave and expressed that it was not the first time and since Apple, their major client, is ‘well organized’ they will not experience any operating issues simply ‘because of one person’s absence.’

Apple To Ship 21 Million iPhones In 1Q11
Digitimes reports today that Apple will ship between 20-21 million iPhones in the first quarter of 2011. The first-quarter shipment goal for WCDMA iPhones has been adjusted from 13 million units to 14-15 million units, the sources said. The shipment goal for CDMA iPhones, which will be launched in North America and Asia Pacific in the first quarter, is set at 5-6 million units, the sources added. Global iPhone shipments in fourth-quarter 2010 are estimated at 15.5 million units, resulting in a total of 47 million units for the entire 2010, the sources indicated.
