With iOS 12 it’s now possible to set up an ‘alternative appearance’ for unlocking your iPhone X, Xs, Xs Max or XR. Previously, only one facial id could do this. This maybe a useful feature if you need to unlock your child’s device, or perhaps if you share a device.
