New Apple Magic Trackpad Is Here
Highly anticipated and rumored earlier this year, we now have confirmation that Apple do indeed have a trackpad and it’s available now to order. I can’t wait to get hold of one – surely it’s going to be great for editing images in Aperture – what do you think? Basically the Magic Trackpad is a larger version of the MacBook Pro touchpad, with 80% more surface area for all your swiping and pinching. The entire surface acts as a button, so it’s also a possible mouse replacement. Magical Trackpad Secrets Revealed
Those wizards over at iFixit wasted no time tearing into Apple’s latest magical device, the Magic Trackpad, with one wave of their wands they discovered the true mysteries surrounding this device. Only there weren’t any really, it sports the same touchscreen controller chip as the iPhone, mean that Apple is continuing their trend of reusing bits and bobs across multiple devices – makes sense. This trackpad uses the same Bluetooth chip that’s found in the Magic Mouse. So other than the logic board there aren’t actually any new electronics within the Magic Trackpad. So cost effective for Apple and surely good for the environment too – win win.
