Today, it’s World Laughter Day and I’ve already started… There is too much tension in our nation, our stress levels are too high, none of us are getting out of here alive, relax… When we join with others in laughter, we know how good we feel, remember? It creates social bonds, as we recognise that we’re are experiencing similar emotions, simultaneously. The therapeutic effects of laughter have been clinically studied since the 70s, but Dr Madan Kataria – who developed laughter yoga in Mumbai – is credited with bringing laughter therapy into the mainstream. Urgently contemporary, this weeks mobile photography and art flickr group showcase is a huge thrill and I know all about thrills. This week I chatted with a friend, one I’ve not seen for such a long time. The most charming man, the most fragrant and also the most generous. Slipping back into rambling conversations about, art, photography and sex, we absorbed and absolved one another as we nudged the English language to its limits. Art as in life, is about desire and the mobile photographers and artists that we have featured in this weeks showcase, have satiated mine. This is another totally astonishing showcase full of mobile photography and art captured and created over this past week from around the world. This week, I have dedicated the showcase to a very special member of our community and one who will be celebrating her birthday tomorrow. Carolyn Hall Young, has touched many of our lives and hearts, she’s also one woman who I grace with the role of teaching me how to make love. Yes, just recently Carolyn taught me how to make love. Streets Ahead – Challenge 2 – Showcase
Welcome to the showcase for the challenge section of Streets Ahead, a Women’s Mobile Street Photography Collective. Our second challenge is ‘Leading Lines’ and JQ Gaines has shared some thoughts about some of photographs submitted whilst Cara created and edited the film.
