MacWise 12.2 allows a Macintosh to be used as a terminal, connected to a host computer directly, by modem, local area network or over the Internet with telnet or ssh secure shell.

MacWise emulates ADDS Viewpoint, Wyse 50, Wyse 60, Wyse 370, Televideo TV 925, DEC VT100, VT220 and Prism terminals. Supports ANSI and SCO ANSI color. Esprit III color is also supported in Wyse 370 mode. AppleScript is also supported. Works with Intel Macs and MacBooks. Connect to the host via serial, modem, telnet, ssh, via the internet or local connection. The App Store version requires Mac OS X 10.6.6 or later.

Scroll Back:
You can scroll back to the past 40 pages of data. MacWise remembers the last 40 pages that appear on your screen, regardless of whether the data has scrolled across the screen or the screen has cleared. Video attributes such as inverse and underline are also saved, including colors. This means that you can use the scroll bar to scroll back to previous screens to look at the data or print a scrolled-back page or copy a selection into the clipboard.

AppleScript Support:
MacWise supports AppleScript commands. Many functions of MacWise can be controlled by a script (such as transferring data to and from the host, sending commands to the host and messages to the MacWise user). Scripts compiled as applications can be run from "Run AppleScript" under the Special Menu. For instance, you can write a script to transfer data from the host to a file on your Macintosh and then tell another application to open that file.

Laura Jones and the Gate of Good and Evil and Laura Jones and the Secret Legacy of Nikola Tesla

Nevosoft has announced the release of two titles for Mac on the Mac App Store: Laura Jones and the Gate of Good and Evil and Laura Jones and the Secret Legacy of Nikola Tesla. Both of them combine hidden object gameplay with inventory puzzles and mini-games and are played from the perspective of Laura Jones, an archeologist.

The first game starts when Laura Jones gets a letter about a powerful ancient talisman. The universe Evil is trying to possess sacred powers and Laura saves the world from fatal destruction. The sequel’s story begins when Laura heads to Europe and discovers a letter from the famous 20th century inventor Nikola Tesla. The note provides clues to the whereabouts of several parts that can be used to activate one of Tesla’s lost inventions – a machine capable of providing a clean energy alternative to oil.

The adventures offer a mixture of hidden object searches (from a list, or by silhouette), inventory-based puzzles and mini-games. The challenges always tie in nicely with the story, and are as varied as feeding a cat different fish, collecting medical supplies to treat a cut finger, designing a logo for the back of a jacket, and catching the chickens that have escaped from their cages. Certain parts of the screen can be zoomed in on, and occasionally you will also get spot-the-difference puzzles, or have to move objects aside to uncover the item you are seeking.
