Mobile Art – APPart – Eighth Flickr Group Showcase – TheAppWhisperer

I am delighted to publish our very latest APPart Mobile Art Flickr Group Showcase. Curated by our editor Bobbi McMurry and produced by myself. Over to Bobbi…(foreword by Joanne Carter).

“It’s hard to believe we are already to the last AppArt showcase of 2015.  I’ve enjoyed being part of this amazing group of artists, it’s been a year of wonderful creativity and growth for so many.  Our exposure to each other’s art and commentary serve as a window to the people behind the art, so while many of us are “friends” only on social media, we likely know more about each other than some of our friends in the “real world”. Thank you for giving so much of yourselves, your creativity, and your time; let’s make 2016 bigger and better!

Ever noticed that sometimes the most brilliant solutions are those that are so simple and seemingly evident that we can’t believe it wasn’t thought of before. The first examples that come to my mind are the plastic ketchup bottle, and wheeled suitcase. “Paradise Lost” is an image that exemplifies the concept of successfully approaching a solution in the simplest way. Created by thelcf666, he’s combined the forbidden fruit with the notorious Serpent who successfully tempted Eve all those years ago. The Serpent’s mouth open wide, fangs revealed as if ready to strike contrasted by the soft palette and gentle nature of hand holding it. This is clearly not Eve’s hand, as it is most definitely that of a man. There is no evident wound, but blood is dripping off the hand from below the apple rather than coming off the fangs. It seems that what we are looking at is Adam’s choice, he’s been handed the ill-fated fruit so obviously evil, but takes a bite all the same. Some say that Eve is to blame for all mankind’s woes, but this image seems to suggest otherwise. Here, Adam also was tempted, that while Eve presented the fruit to Adam, he too was susceptible to a temptation he was unable to resist. The original paradise was lost as a result of poor decision making and lack of willpower by both Adam and Eve”.
