Developed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the laser-based system reportedly achieves millimeter-level resolution from 100 kilometers (62 miles) away—up to 100 times sharper than existing spy cameras. During tests over Qinghai Lake, the camera captured details as small as 1.7 millimeters across.
