One area we are very keen on exploring and helping our readers with on theappwhisperer.com is photography education and accessibility. There are many photographers and artists with special needs, whether this relates to visual issues even bordering on blindness (yes it’s true), to deafness (not many people know this, but I personally endure severe hearing loss) to many other difficulties that people suffer with, these include mental health issues, physical issues and more. We want to ensure that whatever your difficulty you can still enjoy photography and art, it’s so therapeutic. Pinhole Assist – iOS Tool App Giveaway
We mentioned Pinhole Assist yesterday, see here, it’s an excellent companion to argentic pinhole and wet-plate collodion photography. The range of aperture and sensitivity (starting at 0.25 ISO) allows for wet-plate and slow processes as well as pinhole. Pinhole Assist is packed with predefined light measurement but there’s also manual override. There’s also a good deal of reciprocity charts included and new with this update, is the HOLD/Resume button for light meter. The app has also been redesigned for iOS 7 with enhanced usability and swifter access to the most common settings. Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition with Mobile Category – Deadline Approaching
As avid followers of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition for more years than we care to remember we were delighted to learn last year that the organisers have added a mobile category for smartphone photographers aged 17 and under, called WILD-I, hopefully this will be rolled out within the adult category too at a later stage, we mentioned it here.
