Lee Miller – A Life on the Front Line – BBC iPlayer
I highly recommend this documentary currently on BBC iPlayer about model turned photographer, Lee Miller. It is a personal story of a young woman searching for freedom and love and one which leads her to experiences, some she tried to forget, understandably. When Lee Miller returned to New York from Europe in October 1932, newspaper reporters were waiting to greet her as her ship docked. Disembarking in a smart beret and fur-collared coat, she smiled for the journalist from the New York World-Telegram. When he referred to her as ‘one of the most photographed girls in Manhattan’, she retorted, ‘I’d rather take a picture than be one.’ Lee Miller is…

BBC iPlayer iPhone App Updated
We mentioned the new BBC iPlayer app for iPhone several weeks ago and now the BBC have updated it allowing iPhone/iPad users to watch BBC programs and listen to radio over WiFi and 3G. As well as watching TV using Apple AirPlay on iOS5. The BBC rolled out their global version of this app throughout Europe and around the world earlier this year giving viewers access to over 1,500 hours of on-demant content for an annual subscriptionn cost. What we would really like to see though is the facility to download programs and view them offline via your iPhone, now that would be good and perhaps that’s coming next. In…

Hopefully, and judging from our stats a whole bunch of readers have been avidily reading our BBC iPlayer iPad app review, which is great news. When that app was released in the App Store this morning there was still no sign of an Android version, but now there is. So, if you’re lucky enough to have a Samsung Galaxy Tab you could start watching this on your 7inch tablet, or any Android cell phone will sufffice right now. From what we can tell so far, by testing this on our Galaxy Tab, there does not appear to be a high quality mode, like the iPad – presumably there’s a reason…

BBC iPlayer iPad App – The Real Review
Today, the BBC iPlayer launched in the UK Apple App Store. I must admit I’ve been using the Beta web version of this app on my iPad for a while now but this brand new dedicated iPad version is really something else. Read this review to learn how to maximize your pleasure with this app. Home Screen Firstly and importantly, this app is free, although you are meant to have a UK TV license in order to watch it. So…
