eBay Buys RedLaser – the barcode scanning app for iPhone
News just in is that eBay have just announced that they have bought RedLaser, that cool barcode-scanning app that we have reviewed previously – eBay have also acquired all related technology from it’s developer Occipital. We do not have details yet on the actual terms but we expect it to be quite considerable. RedLaser has had over 2 million downloads from the App Store. eBay will integrate RedLaser’s app into its iPhone apps, including their eBay Marketplace, eBay Selling, StubHub and Shopping.com. RedLaser was originally available in the app store for $1.99 but eBay have now made it free and will be integrating it into more than 200 million listings…
