The Guardian Eyewitness app for iPad showcases the world’s most distinctive and provocative photographs, providing a daily, visual reflection of global events. Developed by the most popular digital newspaper in the UK, the app provides free access to our award-winning Eyewitness photography series, which appears in full colour in the centre spread of the Guardian newspaper each day. Each time you open the app it will download the latest 100 photographs for you to browse chronologically or save indefinitely in your favourites area. Apple Drops iAd Prices By 50%
Now that’s a big drop but then again, it was big money in the first place. An iAd will now ‘only’ cost you $500,000 – down from a cool $1,000,000. It appears that Apple have had a few problems trying to fill all its ad spots and feels that dropping the price to this level will enable more advertisers to enter the platform. What do you think? iAd Now Allowing In-Ad App Purchases
Possibly due to low iAd fill rates, Apple has adapted the way iAd works allowing developers to sell their apps directly from within an iAd. So, basically you don’t need to select an iAd for an app and then go to the store, you will instead now get a pop-up menu asking you to confirm your purchase – just click on ‘ok’ and enter your iTunes password and the app will start downloading.
