The Telegraph have published an exclusive conversation between Stephen Fry, Jony Ive and Tim Cook. It’s a poignant read and towards the end Fry reveals his regret of speaking out to Steve Jobs. Jony Ive To Design New Leica M Camera
Well, we are not surprised by this news but definitely excited. We’ve known for many years how Apple feels about Leica cameras and so it was no surprise to learn at Leica’s special event last night at Photokina (where theappwhisperer is right now) that Dr Andreas Kaufmann from Leica announced they’ve got a very special limited edition version of the Leica M planned, one that will be designed by Jony Ive – Senior Vice President, Industrial Design at Apple. The Queen Promotes Jony Ive To Sir Jonathan Ive
You’ve probably heard by now that Jony Ive, Senior Vice President of Industrial Design at Apple Inc, has received a KBE in the New Year Honors List but what you may not of realised, until now, was that Jony already had a CBE, received in 2006 for services to the design industry. The KBE stands for Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire. An honor allowing the (male) individual, in this case, to use the title ‘Sir’ before their first name. Arise, Sir Jonathan Ive and many congratulations.
