Skype Gets Free Video Messaging & More For iOS
Yesterday Skype updated their iPhone and iPad apps to bring free and unlimited video messaging, stability improvements for audio and video calls, as well as the ability to share more photos reliably. Previously you could only access free video messaging if you had a Skype premium account with unlimited allowance but this feature has now been rolled out to everyone. Elton John Getting An iPad 2 With Camera In April 2011
According to an interview with BBC News this afternoon, Elton John has reportedly said he will be getting a ‘Skype iPad’ in April this year. From this comment we can only assume EJ is referring to an iPad 2 with FaceTime/Skype – of course, now that means a camera. Listen to the interview, here
Skype Video Calling for iOS over Wi-Fi and 3G Now Available
Skype released version 3.0 of its app for iOS late last night, adding long-awaited video calling to the list of features for the popular VOIP app. This feature comes on the heels of a support document discovered last week by Engadget on Skype’s site that hinted at video calling features on the iPhone.
