DMD Panorama Opens Up API To Developers
We were very interested to read an article on TechCrunch this morning regarding one of our favorite panoramic apps, DMD Panorama. TechCrunch talked to co-founder and CEO of DMD Panorama, Elle-Gregoire Khoury about the future of panoramic photographs. ‘panoramic photos will become a commodity at the end of the day’, Khoury said. He said this because he wants to see panoramas become a standard feature in a wide range of websites and apps, in the same way that many regular photos are now, TechCrunch reported. Instagram Coming Soon To Android
As we’ve been reporting for some time now, Instagram is porting to Android and following co-founder of Instagram, Kevin Systroms comments over SXSW weekend, it is going to happen very soon. Systrom demoed the app briefly on stage at SXSW, not the full walk-through as they’re not quite ready for that yet. Mike Krieger, co-founder, commented that ‘folks over at Android have been pretty impressed with the way the app leverages the platform. Apple To Purchase Anobit for $400-$500 Million
Well we all know that Apple has plenty of cash to splash and if these latest rumors turn out to be true this would be one of their largest acquistions ever. TechCrunch are reporting that Apple are after Anobit, a fabless semiconductor company specialising in flash storage. Apparently, Apple are reliant on Anobit’s technology in the iPhone, iPad and MacBook Air. Apple are intent on increasing the amount of flash memory storage in a device and improve long term reliability and Anobit looks like the company to help them do so. Photobucket Joins Twitter To Offer Photo Integration
Twitter announced earlier today that their users will soon be able to attach pictures directly to tweets and that this capability will be coming soon to its official mobile apps and Twitter.com. Twitter is partnering with Photobucket, an image hosting company that was founded in 2003, to host users’ photos. Currently, Twitter users rely on a 3rd-party image hosting service, like Posterous, TwitPic, yfrog and others, to save tweeted pictures and video. Twitter also announced a revamped search feature for the micro-blogging service that is promised to provide more relevant search results plus related photos and videos.
