TaskInsight Upgrade Mac App

Imaja upgrades TaskInsight 2.0 with a powerful new graphic timeline view and many other new features, enhancing task/todo list project management capabilities. The Timeline view supports zoom in and out on the time scale, dragging to reschedule tasks, search filtering, sorting, font, font size, font color and background color customization, color-coded priorities, and extensive keyboard navigation. Many TaskInsight Timeline view features work in parallel with the table-based List view.

TaskInsight 2.0 includes priorities, labels, color coding, manual and automatic sorting, drag and drop, copy and paste, undo and redo, import and export, customizable views, text-to-speech for selected tasks, and several optional fields. A number of new commands let users set the priority or status for the selected tasks. The new Shift Time menu can be used to shift selected tasks in time in various increments. A number of simple and combination sorts can be selected from the new Sort menu or with keyboard shortcuts. TaskInsight 2.0 documents can be individually customized to suit various projects and presentation situations.

Document Settings provide display and behavior customizations. TaskInsight 2.0 documents optionally include date columns for start, due, completed, created and modified dates so you can track the sequence of various tasks and states. Time of day display and editing is an option. Created, modified and completed dates are automatically set by TaskInsight, but can also be overridden. The Recent Documents panel provides quick access to important task lists. The new toolbar supports the standard customizability of button size, labeling, visibility and placement, and the toolbar itself can optionally be hidden.

Extensive keyboard shortcuts and keyboard navigation provide efficient productivity for power users. Thorough support for Undo and Redo, and drag and drop is provided. Documents or web URLs dragged into TaskInsight will create tasks with the document path or web URL for easy opening at a later date. The Recent Searches menu provides quick access to filtered views for categories and keywords. Standard, searchable documentation is provided through Apple Help, including a useful page on Keyboard Shortcuts. The Timeline or List view can be easily exported to PDF via the Print command for delivery to viewers.

Imaja’s Greg Jalbert, project manager and software developer, enthusiastically relates, "The new timeline view in the TaskInsight 2.0 upgrade is a powerful way to evaluate and rearrange project schedules and priorities. The new view customization is excellent for various working contexts. I constantly use TaskInsight for organizing and tracking progress on complex software development projects with over 250 tasks. TaskInsight’s productive feature set will be very useful for many types of users."
