Mobile Photography Festival – mObgraphia 2018 – Further Details…

Yesterday, we said that more details would follow regarding the mObgraphia 2018 Mobile Photo Festival (which is currently open to receive submissions), today we can reveal them.

There are two points of entry. There this one, ‘Open’ with six categories, including Arts, Documental, Landscape, Black and White, Portrait and Street. All of these are free to enter and the winning images will be printed and exhibited for 45 days in the Museu de Imagem e do Som – MIS Sp in Brazil.

There is also another (to pay for) section, the Essay Category. The theme for the Essay category is ‘Water’. The organisers are looking for and select stories told through visual narratives of all kinds, from documentary approaches conveying important context to this theme, to currently interesting and relevant narratives about it. Again the winning images will be printed and exhibited for 45 days in the Museu de Imagem e do Som – MIS Sp in Brazil.

Essay Category (Paid)

Each participant can submit at least 5 (five) photos to a maximum of 10 (ten) images, that shall create a visual narrative.

Enrolments must be made from February 15 to March 20, 2018.

After having completed the enrolment, participants should attach their photos, according to the specified standard:  jpeg format, 1,200 pixels on the largest side, and at least 200 dpi. Photos must be sent to the email [email protected] (subject line:  MOBGRAPHIA FESTIVAL SUBMISSION) with the Sympla code provided.

Enrolments made after the deadline (March 20,  2018 at 6 pm (Brazil local time) or that doesn’t´t meet the specifications above mentioned (item 3.2) will not be accepted.

Decisions made by the Selection Committee are overriding and unappealable.

Results

Initially selected works (shortlist containing 10 images per category) will be announced at the website www.mobgraphia.com and mObgraphia Facebook and Instagram channels until March 31st, 2018.

Delivery time for the print-ready file (if necessary) is 24 hours. If the author doesn’t ́t submit his/her essay within deadline, his/her work will not participate in the exhibition, and the next name in the shortlist will be one of the three winners.

Exhibition of Selected Images

The photos will be printed by mObgraphia and later exhibited in a dedicated room at MIS during the Festival. This exhibition may also be shown in other dates, locals and cities. Selected photographers will receive an award to be announced.

Press

The exhibition will be part of MOBGRAPHIA FESTIVAL 2018 official program

Selected images may be published for Festival publicising and communication purposes (website, catalogs, invitations, press office and social media) without incurring any burden for the organisation.

General Rules

Photos authorship are the sole responsibility of the selected photographer, holding Festival organizers harmless from any copyright claim or suit by third parties.

It ́s the sole responsibility of the enrolled participant regularize any issue arising from the use of image rights of the persons portrayed.

The act of enrolment in the selection process implies the acceptance by the participant of all conditions specified in this Public Notice.

Images must comply with all requirements of this Public Notice, under penalty of disqualification.

Cases not included in this Public Notice shall be settled by the Selection Committee together with the mObgraphia Board.

After the exhibition period, the selected printed photos will become part of Festival collection.
