Rollage – Updated
Rollage is a very popular app with mobile photographers and one that our awesome Columnist Mel Harrison wrote a tutorial on earlier this year. If you missed that you can read it here. Rollage has now been updated with some great new features including, three new rollage patterns, three new filters, filter intensity, photo swaping, creative adjustment of patterns, improved interface and landscape and square formats. It also now has support for the new iPad with retina display, support for iOS 6, support for iPhone 5 display and improved performance. This is a free update to a free app. You can download it here.
SmugMug for iPad – Updated
SmugMug for iPad is a popular iPad portfolio tool and its just been updated with several bug fixes that were causing crashes. It’s also now possible to stream video for playback instead of having to download the entire file. This is a free update, to a free app. Click here to download/update.
Etchings – iPhone Photography App Review
As a postage stamp collector from way back, my eye is always drawn to any artwork that has elaborate etching work. This app, by MindSea Development Inc. allows the user to “…. instantly create beautiful etched illustrations from any photo!” (MindSea.) Recently updated, Etchings doesn’t have much in the way of “bells and whistles” in it’s platform but it does truly deliver etched illustrations…simply and elegantly. It is currently available for $0.99 in the App Store. It also offers an in-app filter set for an additional $0.99. (Compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 5.0 or later.) Adobe Photoshop Touch – Updated
Adobe Photoshop Touch is an excellent app and one that we received over on our linked site, dpreview some time ago. If you missed that go here. This app has now been updated to include a link to Adobe privacy policy in the Settings and also Gallery browsing improvements. FiLMiC Pro – Temporary Price Drop
FiLMiC Pro is an excellent app that turns your mobile device into a broadcast worthy, High Definition video camera.
