Instagram – Updated With Instagram Direct!
Instagram was updated last night (GMT) with a brand new photo messaging service – similar to Snapchat. Instagram Direct allows you to send images and videos directly through the app to other people. There’s no ‘chat’ facility per se, it’s more about sending a singular image or video and then chatting about it. A photo or video is required to start a new conversation but up to 15 members can discuss the same media. When you open Instagram, you’ll now see a new icon in the top right corner of your home feed. The developers describe this update as ‘the biggest update since we first released the app over five years ago”. Camera Plus – iOS Photography App – Updated
We first wrote about Camera Plus Pro the more advanced version of this app for dpreview.com back in 2011, if you missed that, please go here. The latest update to Camera Plus brings with it some great features including three focus modes, macro, normal and far (perhaps distant may of sounded better) but nevermind. There’s some new filters, sliders and text captions included too as well as video features. If you haven’t tried this app yet, then we recommend you do.
