Paper on iPhone – Coming Soon – (Includes A Little History….)

2015-08-19 / Comments Off on Paper on iPhone – Coming Soon – (Includes A Little History….)

The team at FiftyThree share a core belief that human beings are essentially creative. The trouble is, by the time people graduate, get a job and take on other responsibilities, they often believe they’re not creative. They feel the phrase “I’m not creative” needs to be eradicated. As a species we’ve evolved with intelligent brains and dexterous hands, plus most of us have access to unlimited ideas and inspiration. Creating is what unlocks our potential. It makes business sense as well; innovation trumps efficiency in the long run. The idea that anyone can be creative and benefit from doing so is a concept FiftyThree took forward when they formed FiftyThree…

Mobile Digital Art – FiftyThree and Guggenheim bring Digital Art to Classrooms

2015-06-11 / Comments Off on Mobile Digital Art – FiftyThree and Guggenheim bring Digital Art to Classrooms

Creativity isn’t second nature only to a lucky few; we’re all born creative but, over our formative years, it’s slowly trained out of us. This is no doubt why, when asking a second grade class who thinks of themselves as creative, 95% of students will raise their hands. Fast forward to fifth grade and only 50% will, and by high school only 5% of students identify as creative (via). FiftyThree want to help eradicate this trend, which is why they have teamed up with the Guggenheim Museum to do just that. For the past 44 years, the Guggenheim has sent teaching artists into New York City’s public schools through a…

‘Paper’ iPad App Partners With Moleskin – Raises $15m

    2013-10-01 / 1 Comment

A very interesting article published by Stuart Dredge for The Guardian this afternoon discusses the developers behind the uber popular app, Paper, FiftyThree in which in their latest Series A funding, they raised $15m and ‘explicitly outlined ambitions for “moving beyond touch and into the physical world of accessories” – drawing on its team’s hardware experience within Microsoft (Kinect, Xbox and the never-launched Courier) and Sonos’. ‘In 2013, FiftyThree has been taking Paper’s digital charms into the physical world. Earlier this year, it created a customised version of the app for the Fashion Rules exhibition at Kensington Palace in London, helping visitors design their own dresses while gazing at real royal…
