Apple Will Price Match iPhone Discounts From Other Retailers
Well, this is unexpected, after all we are talking Apple here but according to AppleInsider today, ‘Apple has instructed its retail stores to match the iPhone discounts being offered by major retailers including AT&T, Best Buy, Radio Shack, Target, Sprint and Verizon when customers present with competitive offers’. Apple currently sells the iPhone 4 and 4S at $49.01 more than many retailers but with this price matching now in force, it means you can pick up an 8GB iPhone 4 for only $49.99 and the iPhone 4S now starts at $149 for the 16GB model, that’s pretty cool. iPads at Target for Christmas – With a Discount
Coming in preparation for the Christmas shopping season is the announcement that Minneapolis-based retail company Target will carry Apple’s iPads starting October 3rd. They will sell for the MSRP, but will also give a 5% discount for purchasers with a Target credit card or debit card, starting on the 17th.

That was this statement reportedly said by Best Buy CFO, Brian Dunn, when talking to the Wall Street Journal while explaining, that the iPad ‘had cannibalized sales from laptop PCs by as much as 50%’. Dunn went on to say, "People are willing to disproportionately spend for these devices because they are becoming so important to their lives". This holiday season, Best Buy hopes to capitalize even more on this shift in consumer spending by heavily promoting Apple’s iPad and Amazon’s Kindle in its stores.
