Apple announces App Store Small Business Program
Apple today announced an industry-leading new developer program to accelerate innovation and help small businesses and independent developers propel their businesses forward with the next generation of groundbreaking apps on the App Store. The new App Store Small Business Program will benefit the vast majority of developers who sell digital goods and services on the store, providing them with a reduced commission on paid apps and in-app purchases. Developers can qualify for the program and a reduced, 15 per cent commission if they earned up to $1 million in proceeds during the previous calendar year. Apple Reports Record Quarterly Profit of $18.4 Billion
Apple today announced financial results for its fiscal 2016 first quarter ended December 26, 2015. The Company posted record quarterly revenue of $75.9 billion and record quarterly net income of $18.4 billion, or $3.28 per diluted share. These results compare to revenue of $74.6 billion and net income of $18 billion, or $3.06 per diluted share, in the year-ago quarter. Gross margin was 40.1 percent compared to 39.9 percent in the year-ago quarter. Russia To Ban iPhone and iPad From 2015
According to a report in the International Business Times, Russia is set to ban the iPhone and iPad from 2015 ‘as a result of a new law that forces online services operating in the country to store their data locally’. This law doesn’t just affect any device that uses Apple’s US based iCloud servers but also potentially Facebook and Twitter too. Apple iTunes Store Now Available In An Additional 32 Countries
You may recall when we covered the WWDC 2012 event earlier this month that Tim Cook, CEO, Apple, announced that the iTunes App Store would be adding an additional 32 countries to its mix. Well, that is now the case, the countries within this group now include – Albania, Benin, Bhutan, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Cape Verde, Chad, Congo, Fiji, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Liberia, Malawi, Mauritania, Micronesia, Mongolia, Mozambique, Namibia, Nepal, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Sao Tome e Principe, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Swaziland, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Zimbabwe. Apple To Announce iPhone 5 On October 4, 2011
Well, that’s the very strong rumor that AllThingsD are putting out today. Of course, there is no official word from Apple, but that’s to be expected. Apparently, Tim Cook the new Apple CEO will unveil the iPhone 5 at this new media event . Phil Schiller, Scott Forstall and Eddy Cue will also support Cook with the presentation but Cook will take the lead.
