Apple Bows To iPhone 6 Mobile Photography – World Gallery – TheAppWhisperer

Apple has ‘quite rightly’ taken over their homepage with a new section entitled World Gallery. It’s a curation of images taken with either the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6+. This is a global selection and will in its entirety feature 77 photographers across 70 cities and 24 countries. From Sydney to Beijing to San Francisco to New York City to London and more, Apple will feature iPhone photographers and their work on posters at bus stops and train stations in newspapers and on billboards.

It’s pure delight and a testament to all that we do here at TheAppWhisperer.com that Apple are featuring the artists’ work in this campaign. This is what the iPhone 6/+ is about – creating art and it’s so good to see it portrayed like this as opposed to many images of the product itself. Big shout out to Apple.

What a refreshing gallery of images – most were straight out of the camera with limited “apping,” grunging, and manipulation to the point of the image no longer truly being a photograph – as much as I appreciate viewing images that have been turned into art pieces, illustrations, and highly stylized graphic designed masterpieces, it sure was nice to see pure photography for a change. And bravo to Apple for displaying their nicely curated gallery of “photographs.” Hope they keep the project going.
