Mobile Photography – TrueView Interview – ‘The Pregnant Moment’ with Lynette Sheppard from Hawaii, USA
One of the many things that I love, so so much about our TrueView Interview section within TheAppWhisperer.com is the feeling that I am personally having a conversation with the artist whom I have asked a question to. This is one of the many good things about social media, the ability to get closer to all of you, even though we are separated by thousands of miles, in many cases. It is completely apparent in this new TrueView Interview with Lynette Sheppard when she considers her work within a story telling/narrative framework. My thoughts behind this, include an 18th century thesis, ‘Laocoon: An Essay on the Limits of Painting and…

Mobile Videography – Cinematic ITALY – Shot on iPhone X in Brescia
Matteo Bertoli is a videographer whom we have often featured and admired, not least with his latest film, filmed during the 2017 Christmas holidays when he went back home to Brescia in Italy. “I decided to go out and shoot some clips with my iPhone X. Everything was handheld. No slider, no tripod, no lenses. Just my iPhone X and my hands. I used Filmic Pro to record every single clip. The app on the new iPhone X is absolutely perfect. No lags and no problems at all. 100% compatible with iOS 11. I recorded everything in 24p Filmic Extreme quality in 4k. Everything was edited and graded in DaVinci…

Mobile Photography – Instagram TAKEOVER with @barbaranebel Day 4 – 12
Taking in this post, I hope you will fancy that you can almost hear the deep praise, appaluse and embrace I am showering on Barbara Nebel. An outstanding mobile artist and photographer but not only that, a woman who now as far as I am concerned occupies an elevated plinth all to herself, as the artist who led our Instagram takeover throughout the Christmas and New Year period, above and beyond the call of duty, when I was very unwell with a delibating eye illness, which kept me away from all screens for several days. The stakes were vertinginous, her Takeover was for 7 days, and she’s still at the…

Mobile Photography – TrueView Interview – ‘The Pregnant Moment’ with Liliana Schwitter from Switzerland
Our TrueView Interview section is an area where we ask one singular question, to mobile photographers and artists and it is captured to video. This time, I have asked mobile artists to consider their work within a story telling/narrative framework. My thoughts behind this, include an 18th century thesis, ‘Laocoon: An Essay on the Limits of Painting and Poetry‘, Gotthold Lessing argued that although painting could not communicate narrative in the sense of telling a story, it could imply drama by aspiring to capture the “pregnant moment”. In photography, this idea thrives as the “decisive moment” first introduced by Henri Cartier-Bresson and his followers. Therefore, my question to a mobile…
