Creation (Photographie) Mobile – 4 -5 December 2014 – Live Stream Now Available – TheAppWhisperer
Between October 21st and November 23rd, 2014, a call for entries was organized: focusing on Mobile (Photographic) Creation, the initiative was the result of a partnership between the Université Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris 3, the Institut National d’Histoire de l’Art, and the blog Photophores, dedicated to the promotion of emerging photography. The organisers received 125 applications demonstrating ‘an immense array of creative work done with mobile technology, from smartphones, tablets, and even drones’. The Jury of Mobile (Photographic) Creation would like to thank all of the participants for their propositions and their interpretation of the guideline: “three photographs, without any specific subject, dealing with mobile creation”. MIRA Mobile Prize – Overall Winner Announced!
We are delighted to announce the overall winner for the MIRA Mobile Prize is Janine Graf with her rhino image with blue balloons. This photograph was chosen from the shortlist of fifty that myself and other members of the Jury had selected. It reflects high evaluation; consistent work; and was also the preferred image of the curator and the representant of the municipality for the MIRA competition. Many many congratulations Janine. We’re delighted to reveal that the Mobile Photography Awards (MPA) 2013 Winners and Honorable mentions have now been announced. As always we (I speak as a member of the Jury) were succumbed by the wealth of talent displayed across our screens. We’ve had more entries to this competition than ever before and the quality of submissions has been totally outstanding across all the categories. We have just completed this epic showcase of The Best Mobile Photography and Art images of 2013. All of these images were in our favourites section of our Mobile Photography & Imagery Flickr Group. We have painstakingly worked our way through over 5,500 favourited images, from an original 71,000.
